CELEBRATING 10ish YEARS

Marvel hit me up last year and said they wanted to do something for the 10th Anniversary of my Young Marvel Covers. I said that would be awesome and we should totally celebrate 10 years…on the 12th year! That’s right, it’s been 12 years already since that Midtown Comics AvX exclusive wraparound I did. It’s hard to believe.

You might wonder how we could forget or miss the benchmark. Here’s the thing, comics never stop. The train is always on a track and we’re all busy with our heads down making sure ever page, cover, and issue gets to the station on time. It’s easy to miss all kinds of things, including anniversaries off all kinds. We laughed about the timing and decided that we all play pretty fast and loose with numbering in comics, so celebrating 10ish years now is more perfect than if we hit it right on the exact date.

To celebrate this Anniversary-ish, I put together this massive poster image featuring 27 of our favorite Marvel characters. You’ll be getting a poster, a wrap around cover, and…54 variant covers! Yup, that’s right. I took all 27 characters and put them on their own covers that will be appear on various books throughout the month of June. Along with the full color versions (Masterfully colored by Jean-Francois Beaulieu) there will be Black and White incentive variants as well. Marvel will have all that info in their official announcement and solicitations.

Of course Megan and John are already putting together the plan to offer you all some signed bundles of the whole shebang! We don’t have these details yet but keep an eye out for a future newsletter for all that info!

It’s not just the covers though! They’re also taking the comic series I wrote for the Marvel Unlimited app and bringing it to print for the first time. GIANT SIZED LITTLE MARVELS! Written by me and drawn by Dax Gordine!

I can’t thank you all enough for the love and support you’ve shown me over the last 12 years. You’ve allowed me to be the cartoonist I always dreamt of being. I grew up on Mad Magazine and Newspaper Comic Strips and I’ve been able to do my version of that with the amazing catalog of Marvel characters. That would not have been possible if you all didn’t show to buy the comics, pins, apparel, statues, apps, games, stickers, plushies, and all the other things that Marvel has brought to you featuring my work. I appreciate you all so much.

AIN’T NO GRAVE LIVE STREAM

Jorge Corona and I are back together again with our new co-created comic AIN’T NO GRAVE! Issue #1 will be out May 8th from Image Comics. We thought we’d hop on a live stream and talk about the making of the book and maybe a little on what’s next for us! The live stream will be Tuesday, April 9 at 7pm CST.
