I Hate Fairyland #20 is in stores now! It’s the end of the Happy End Game story arc, and the end of Brett Bean’s run as artist on the series. He put his all into this book for 20 straight issues and it was such a pleasure working with him. I was so excited that he agreed to come onboard to join me in relaunching IHF back in 2022. And even though it’s hard letting him go, I’m just as excited to know he’s going to write and draw his own book now! There’s no better reason to leave a book than to move onto doing books all on your own. The choice to start writing my own comics after we ended Oz was one of the best I’ve ever made. It changed my career and life. And I’m thrilled to see what the future holds that fantastic Brett Bean! If you want to follow him on his adventures, go sign up for his newsletter.
There’s a lot of exciting things in store of I Hate Fairyland, but I’ll save that for another newsletter. For now let’s all wave goodbye and send a big GOOD LUCK to Brett.
Thank you buddy! What a great few years of making comics.
The entire run with Brett was spectacular—and Issue 20 was an epic conclusion! Brett really got Gert. He knew what each panel needed and executed it flawlessly. Love that he joined you for IHF and that I got introduced to another fabulous artist. Can’t wait to see his book and whatever else he does next!
Real sad, He will be missed. But he can walk away knowing he did an awesome Job! I look forward to seeing his own created work. Good luck Brett.
