What Day is it?
Hey guys, Megan here and I just asked Siri, “What day is it?” Send help. It’s that time of year when school has ended, summer hasn’t yet really begun, and my teenagers are roaming the house at 2:30am and sleeping until who knows what time (because I’m here running this place like a Mother). Schedules and time feel like weird concepts that existed just a few short sweet days ago. As a certified type A person, breaking into this season of Laissez-faire is rough on me!
Thankfully we are so busy at Stupid Fresh Mess headquarters that it keeps my brain in check. John just wrapped up the last of the orders for our Amazing Spider-Man exclusive variant and is officially talking to us again. I think Skottie is in the middle of writing something like 37 books, amongst his usual cover deadlines and numerous on-going projects. I’m keeping busy with all the new books and projects we have coming in the pipeline, organizing convention details and all the behind the scenes paperwork of running this mini empire. I’ve also been working with Skottie’s Editor, Joel Enos, on the final details of Daily Grind 1 AND 2! And we have some exclusive variants coming soon that are really going to leave you Shirtless (can I even say that?).
On the topic of Exclusive Variants, we just got this beauty in and will start shipping pre-orders! The Closet by James Tynion IV is an awesome new horror series. Copies are still available right HERE .
And The Eisner Goes to?
We will find out Friday, July 22! We are SO proud of Skottie and the creator teams behind Middlewest and Strange Academy for their Eisner nominations! It really was a moment of pure surprise when Skottie picked up those calls from Image and Marvel. Skottie is nominated with Humberto Ramos for Strange Academy in the category for Best Publication for Teens (ages 13-17) and with Jorge Corona for Middlewest in the category of Best Graphic Album—Reprint. Both categories are stacked with tough competition. I know Skottie is thrilled to see his name next to the awesome creators in these categories. Will he add to the collection? We are cheering for him!
Heroes Convention!
We head out to lovely Charlotte, NC in just a few weeks. In 2014 Skottie created the very first Kid-Hero, the official mascot of Heroes Convention. Since that time Kid-Hero has been interpreted by several awesome creators. And for 2022… Skottie is back with a new design for Kid-Hero!
We don’t have our table assignment yet so keep checking Heroes Convention website for the most up to date information. We’ll be there all 3 days- taking a break midway through the day. We’ll have Skottie’s creator owned books, some of our exclusive covers, and prints. Skottie is not sketching or taking commissions at conventions but we will have some original art available for sale at Heroes.
Raw signatures are $5 each. Anything you buy at the table from us includes a signature.
Graded signatures are $30 each.
