One Word Studies
A new daily sketch mission
Hey everyone! 2025 has been great, but It’s also been a year when I’ve done the least amount of Daily Sketching since I started the practice back in 2010. I just got busy with a million things and slipped out of the practice. Ideas, creativity, drawing…these things are NOT like riding a bike. If you stop working them out, like muscles, they will atrophy. I’ve been wanting to get back into daily sketching again but couldn’t find the ideas or inspiration to get the momentum started. So I decided I needed to enlist some help. I searched DRAWING PROMPTS and picked myself a list of 100 one word prompts to give me to some direction. I’ve done two so far and i’m really loving it! It’s exactly what I was looking for to get my gears turning again.
Another part of the early days of the Daily Sketch was that the original art was available to buy as soon as I finished and scanned it. Long before I had a company with employees and a shipping department, I would get to work, draw a piece, scan it, add it to the store, then write a blog about it and post it on social media and let everyone two it was available right then. I’ve decided to bring that back with these One Word Studies. I’m drawing them, then posting and selling them that same morning/day/night.
So, tune into my Instagram account to see the posts as they come in and check in at the store for any pieces that might still be available as I take daily sketching back to the old school!
Before I go, I thought I’d throw up the list I found during my general google search. I got this list from ART MAKES PEOPLE Feel free to join in on the fun!

Been absolutely loving seeing not only the sketches of course but you revitalized and excited to do them! Not only that but seeing them go up for sale right away again is also super fun! Has me and I'm sure everyone else on their toes for any notifications we get now hah. Very much looking forward to seeing this continue as long as it does! Especially with how fun and odd some of these words are hah.
When I need a writing prompt I pull cards out from Apples to Apples. Just another suggestion for you.
