This was such a nice story, thank you for sharing it from your perspective! That’s my family walking towards my MIL, she is a very special lady. I would love to gift her the picture of her running towards her joy. Would it be possible for me to buy that?

Hello Courtney! Thank you for taking the time to read my story. It's a real pleasure to see your family in the mornings. We can figure something out. The drawing was done digitally so there's no physical piece but we can figure something out. If you go to Skottieyoung.com and send an email through the contact page we'll get back to you.

It’s the little things that can make or break your day. The thing that I got out of this, is that there’s coffee shops in high schools!!

Yeah, it's pretty bougie. I thought we were fancy because we had one pop machine.

“I want to run at the joyful things in life…”

Fantastic quote and a wonderful story. Sometimes it’s those small moments that reminds use how extraordinary even the most [seemingly] ordinary day can be. Thanks for sharing your morning with us.

I wanted to comment on this the other day when I read it. It would have been cool to print up one of the doodles, write this web site address under it, have it framed and gift it to them for the holidays.

Just recently my wife and I have been watching an inspirational video every night from DDPYoga's YT channel. In the morning it helps me get up and do some light Yoga stretches to start the day. Just the little stretching before I take the dog out for a walk in 42 degree weather in the morning before the day FULLY starts has made quite a difference in my attitude towards certain things in the day that would annoy me. I'm not sure what the wife is doing but she tells me she is losing inches also. Aside from that I picked up a book several weeks ago by John C. Maxwell called "Make Today Count" and I carry it with me and read it whenever I get a couple minutes here or there. The little lessons in it help me throughout the day. Wonderful story! THank you for sharing it with us.

Thank you Mark. It's funny how things pop up for us in our days and let us know what we need and we never knew it. I have more of those that I can count.

I miss the days when I had to wake up my son. Now I get to do that with my grandsons a few times a year. And the story about the family at the end is sweet.

The time goes by fast. It feels like yesterday I had one kid to wake up. Now I have the two and the one is nearing the the day so not needing me to wake him up. Well, at least I think. haha. Thanks for reading.

As always I love reading your musings in posts like these! It's especially fun with the accompanying sketches!

The seemingly ordinary or mundane but seen in a different light through someone else's eyes. It's so easy to take all of the small things in life for granted.

For me, my favorite moment as of late has been taking my morning walks (inspired by you of course 😉). I currently am listening to your interview playlist on Spotify (on a side note I'm getting too much Skottie in my life 🤣)! But the part I love is that I leave at the same time my wife gets in the car. And because I go out of our complex and make a loop I usually line up passing the front of our apartments as she's about to turn out of it. And we'll always wave at each other or blow a kiss and then she drives off and I keep walking. Just writing that put a smile on my face so you definitely continue to succeed in getting us all to do that with your words and art!

Thanks for sharing with us as always Skottie!

Well dang, Tyler. That's so sweet. I love that you get those little moments in each morning. And listen, Megan will tell you, I fully understand having too much SKOTTIE in your life. I have way too much SKOTTIE in my life. haha. The amount of stickers with my face on it that end up on shoes, shirt, butts, and car seats is beyond counting. haha. I hope I don't drive you too nuts on the those interviews. haha.

Thanks Skottie! I'm glad I'm able to have these moments as well. Hahahaha I was only kidding of course as I can never have enough SKOTTIE! But I can only imagine what it's like though seeing your name/face everywhere. Especially if it's found it's way onto people's butts! Though for me personally, that would be the highest honor lol. And the podcasts have honestly been awesome! I love traveling back to when you were first releasing Middlewest or Strange Academy hadn't been announced yet. Hearing you discuss your work while in the middle of it. Hearing the random tidbit or fact about your life, work, inspiration, etc. that I didn't know about. I appreciate Megan for putting the playlist together!

I literally just finished picking up the playroom after our Lala Day with the two grands yesterday - sorting blocks, crayons, Super Powers and Rescue Heroes. Your email is a timely reminder for me to run toward my grands when they come round - thank you for sharing this! Now does anyone know how to repair a Batplane?
