WHAT A SELLOUT
The first issue of Ain’t No Grave sold out on the day of release. For those that don’t know, that means that there are no copies of #1 left at the distributor to send to stores for them to re-order! Image Comics is rushing back to print so tell your retailer to get those orders in! Check out the cover for the second printing by Jorge Corona. This was his first pass at the cover for #1 before we decided to go with another version. Now, you get the best of both worlds!
DIGGING MY OWN GRAVE
After reading all your amazing feedback from the first issue, I was so excited that I decided to do what I said I WASN’T going to do…draw some variant covers for the series! At the time we were putting the book together, I was all tied up with books, covers, kids and like, eating and sleeping to stay alive and stuff. I decided to hold off on doing variants for each issue. But man, Jorge has made some really crazy good stuff and I’m a little jealous of him having all the fun. So starting with Ain’t No Grave #2, we’ll be adding a variant cover by ME! This Monday, May 20 is the Final Order Cutoff for both #1 second printing and #2 initial orders!
Available at comic book shops on Wednesday, June 12:
Ain’t No Grave #1, second printing - Lunar Code 0424IM839
Ain’t No Grave #2 Cover A by Corona - Lunar Code 0424IM253
Ain’t No Grave #2 Cover B (1:25 copy incentive) by Young - Lunar Code 0424IM838
FASTEST SHARPIE IN THE (mid)WEST
Just a heads up what we’ll be selling signed copies of my cover at skottieyoung.com but I don’t have the details on that yet. I do know it will be sometime next week-ish. Come on, you know Megan doesn’t let me fuck with anything that has to do with dates, times, or…well, let’s just say if numbers are involved- I’m under a full ban. So, check your inboxes, our instagram or the just visit the site to see what’s up!
So happy for yet another awesome accomplishment on yet another amazing series by you four! Happy to have my copy of #1 and all the variants. And I'm looking forward to adding the 2nd printing and your cover as well! Funny enough when I saw the second printing cover I kind of asked myself why we didn't get that for the original cover! But I love that you touch on the different direction you went plus the fact we get both now!
Congratulations on the great reception—love seeing Ain’t No Grave getting all the attention it deserves. Unsurprisingly, the team knocked it out of the park with this one just as it did with Middlewest and TMYLITD. Excited there are more print runs (which means more covers) and thrilled that we are getting some unexpected but very welcome variants from you!
