What a crazy ride this project has been. Two buddy’s at a kids birthday party talk about making a comic together. They start it up right before the entire world shuts down, change story directions and completely start over during a pandemic. Scared it won’d find an audience because it’s not very commercial, only to be knocked on their butts when everyone comes out and jumps onboard their fun adventure comic.
What a crazy ride, indeed.
I want to thank you all for supporting this book. We couldn’t have done it without all of you retailers and readers! And to those that went even further by posting reviews, videos and love on social media, we are grateful to you for helping spread the word.
To my co-creator and friend, Kyle Strahm…I can’t thank you enough for the imagination, talent, and hours you put into our book. I loved every minute of us just spilling all of our ideas out and putting them into this project. You are one of kind and I’m lucky to know you and share Twig with you. Love you, brother.
What can I say about Jean-Francois Beaulieu? Well, not enough, that’s for sure. He’s a fucking genius. His colors are unmatched in this industry. Sorry, I truly believe that. He’s a beast and put his all into every panel. It’s never been more apparent than on each and every panel of the Twig series.
Nate Piekos is another mind blowing teammate on this book and stunned us all with his lettering and amazing logo. Even though we made him try several designs, his first pass at the logo ended up on the cover. What a joy to work with you on this and every project.
A massive thank you to our editor Joel Enos! He was the glue that held us all together and kept he trains running on time!
And finally to Image Comics and the whole team up there that supported our crazy critter book and got behind it from the very beginning, we say THANK YOU! We appreciate having a publishing home that gave us the complete freedom to make this book the way we wanted to make it!
For those of you wondering if this is truly the end for Twig, I will simply say…
…go read issue #5.
Thank you, everyone. You helped make our dreams come true.
Twig's Journey Comes To An End
I don’t want to say that the LAST page was the most exciting one…because the whole issue was freaking amazing…but it’s VERY exciting. Congrats to the entire team. Once again everything—writing, art, colors, lettering, editing—works together seamlessly in producing a visually stunning, emotional resonate, wildly entertaining story. And yes, every page demonstrates that Jean-Francois Beaulieu is a genius—his colors are mesmerizing. Seriously, it’s impossible to look away. My eyeballs just want to drown in them each and every time I open one of your comics and start reading. Thanks for another great story!
Can’t believe Twig is over, it was such a great read really enjoyed.
