Always love when you share insights like this into your art! Inspiration and ideas are so fleeting but I love that question of "Do you have a crush on it?" And getting to hear what someone has a crush on is always fun because you can tell they're really excited about it!
Looking forward to the eventual release of The Boy and I'm loving the test Nate did! Those speech bubbles look so good! And I'm loving the Stand By Me inspo photos as well.
I'm also really excited to hear you're looking to potentially draw an upcoming project or two as well as write! I've also missed that crush hah.
Lately I am crushing on LEGOs. I have sets of Legos with books to show how to build the set in the box. Then I was inspired to make something free of my own design. Been working on something for the holidays. I made a craved pumpkin out of LEGOs on a baseplate and I put it in a shadowbox and I hang it out of my classroom. Teachers and Students compliment my artwork. I find enjoyment out of that to continue experiment make some cool stuff.
Thank you for this as this is something I have been battling with in my own work and all. I am super excited for this and slow is a good thing as long it’s in the right direction right.
These are always my favourite newsletters to read - always leave feeling better about work or inspired in new ways. So keen to see the projects to come! It’s also so nice and refreshing to be reminded that it’s alright to go through phases even when we think to ourselves we are meant to be better than that. “Having a crush on it” is exactly what I needed to hear today.

I crush on Legos too. That's so awesome to have a place to display, inspire and get feedback. Have fun building!

I am very happy to see you're crushing on Boy At The End.
New fan and have a crush on your work! :)
Digging the "Stand by Me"
Nice setup. Thank you for sharing. It’s always amazing to me the process for artists and writers on where when why and how something gets created.
The only thing constant is change. If you’re constantly doing the same thing you’re not changing with the times.
A change in environment and motivation seems to have put you back on track.
That takes discipline. Awesome work, we appreciate your talent
