I read this story to my son a few years back and he absolutely loved it. Now we read it together every month or so. He loves it, and so do I!!

I first saw Skottie´s art in Wizard of Oz. LOVE IT!... Time passed and one day I found in a Library a book with AWEEESOME illustrations. "These are SOOOO good!!!" I tought. "And it´s written by NEIL GAIMAN!" I bought that bok inmediatly!... I watch the drawings a lots of times... and one day I said "HEy, let´s see if this guy has something more..." Checking on ggogle I found that it was Wizard of Oz illustrator!!!! Dude... you can said I fall in love TWICE with your art, without knowing it was the same illustrator. ^_^

That´s why I love SOOO much that book. That... and also because I read to my little girl (now a teenage!)

I enjoy Neil Gaiman’s writing but this book just never got on my radar. Will certainly have to check it out.

I have NEVER read this book and i seriously need too! Skottie's 2010ish art style is slowly becoming my favorite. I even had to run to the store to get some more fine liners so i can bust some sketches out with them. I love the amount of zaney details you can add with them. The free STUFF sketchbook was heaven sent and i cannot get enough of it. Any other artists out there that are strongly inspired by this genius here?

I honestly missed this as well. I love Gaiman and I always hunt down things that contain Skottie Young art so I am not sure how this happened. I do not have children of my own, but I would definitely read this to my nieces and nephews for I am sure they would find the joy in the book on a level that I may not be able to see myself.

I missed this, but I'm leaving the house right now to fix that! I've got three kids that will love it, one of whom has asked me to start collecting Skottie covers for him... At least I've raised ONE of them right! 😉

Absolutely love reading stories like this! It's really fun getting to glimpse into your past. Especially to see some of your first interactions with other people's work you're a fan of.

Love that in the end it worked out with Neil and you were able to work together! Especially after flexing on the people that didn't think you'd be a good fit haha! That's always such a satisfying feeling. It's really cool getting to see the test piece compared to the final!

Unfortunately, I've not yet read the comic! But maybe I'll win this raffle from the new post and be able to read it! If not then I'll have to still pick it up at some point.

I've yet to read "Fortunately, the Milk", but it looks beautiful. Two amazing talents working together sounds great. I'm just so behind on everything.

I fondly remember reading "Fortunately, The Milk" with my oldest. It was phenomenally written but seeing your illustrations on the cover sealed the deal for us to give it a go :) You were her favorite artist from the Oz books she couldn't stop pouring over and she had to have read it! I think we may have just finished up James and the Giant Peach and to dive in to another epic journey sounded like a ton of fun! I look forward to sharing FtM with our now four year old Hope soon and tell her that if a time traveling female professor stegosaurus can exist she can be/do anything too!
