I’ve loved getting back to posting and sharing my art, thoughts, and comics with you all since we launched the new and improved newsletter a few months ago here on Substack.
I talked with the Stupid Fresh Mess crew and we thought it was time to hear a bit more from YOU on what you all might be wanting out of your experience here. I know what I like to send to everyone, but I’m all about giving you the microphone and letting you sound off on what would make your time here with me even better. I’m up for ideas on both the free and paid subscription side.
Add your suggestions in the comments below and we’ll start making a list and see what hits. Keep in mind, these are suggestions NOT requests that will be 100% fulfilled. Let’s face it, they can’t all be bangers.
DAILY SKETCHES
For you Original Art collectors, don’t forget that tomorrow is Tuesday which means new Daily Sketches will be posted for sale at SKOTTIEYOUNG.COM at 10a.m. Central Time! Here’s a peek at what will be available.
NEW GARBAGE
20 years ago Aesop Rock and Blockhead released an album called LABOR DAYS and it changed my life in so many ways. It fuels my creativity to this day. They teamed up again for a new album called GARBOLOGY and it’s another masterpiece in a long line of amazing albums from these masters of their craft. Go check it out and grab some merch at AESOPROCK.COM. Check out my Daily Sketch available for sale tomorrow.
I'm not gonna be very much help, as someone who's on the free tier I believe you go above and beyond. I mean, I've already gotten free digital issues and a digital trade? So dope! Not to mention the audio clips that have been dropped, can't ask for too much when you're getting it for free. So, I'm definitely good boss. Keep doing what you're doing.
How about once a month you invite another comic creator to Zoom into the Stupid Fresh Mess studio and record the conversation? I'd love to hear you talking to other writers/artists about the craft. Perhaps before you talk to them you ask paid subs for any questions they might have for them.
