Thank you for talking about mental health. I think a lot of aspiring creators see pros and think they don’t deal with burnout or anxiety etc. So I really appreciate you talking about it!

I have been enjoying these emails. Thank you for your openness.

I have been listening to the Spiel and Unspooled recently. The Spiel is a podcast about Steven Spielberg.

Hi Skottie,

Glad you escaped unscathed. Those things that go bump in the dark can be a fearsome lot. Thankfully, the sun takes to shadows like shears to a sheep. I would recommend Eddie Lenihan's Tell Me a Story Podcasts. He's a legendary storyteller from Ireland., unique in that he's gathered his tales by talking to the people (for many decades) who've lived them or had them passed on to them and speaks much of the traditions and culture that bore them. An amazing man who'll leave you in stitches and educated in some of the many histories of the people.

For paranormalities and storytelling - The Belief Hole - three brothers share stories from listeners and have agreat production value.

Now I know you said outside of comics but comiclab (technically webcomics wink wink) talks a lot of wonderful lessons on creativity, community, making a living out of your creative work and also lots and lots of wonderful stories. Some have to do with cremation, some others with Paul Rudd’s magical smile.

The "Loser Club" is a good podcast that talks about Stephen King books. They have a rotating cast of "losers" that give their various opinions about craft, criticism and connections to King's other books. Plus, you may get some tips on how to ward off 45,000 peering eyes!

The Filmumentaries Podcast has cool interviews with movie folks who had interesting jobs on classic films, often Lucasfilm projects.

"Behind the Bastards" and "The Glass Cannon" (gaming) podcasts, plus Adam Savage's "Tested" channel on Youtube is good background noise with an occasional WTF?? moment.

Glad to hear you're in a good headspace lately (glowing-eyed demons aside)...we got a new rescue pup recently and have been getting reacquainted with the local parks and walking trails with him. There's definitely some weird shit in them thar woods!

You should definitely check out Immersive Storytelling with Dougie Corrado. He tells horror stories but in a first person perspective. He provides so much detail that it makes it seem like he really lives through all of them, even if some of them are a little outlandish. He also has a YouTube channel.

Seems like you almost stepped into the middle of a nest of newly birthed Jabberwocky's. You definitely avoided a semi horrific fate, lol. I don't have any podcasts to recommend. Last audio book I listened to was "The 5am Club".

My daughter suggested Fresh Air with Terry Gross. It deals with Pop culture. She also mentioned Criminal by Phoebe Judge. It is interview style talking about crimes that don't usually make national news.

If you like The Lonely Island songs and movies check out The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast. They talk about all of the digital shorts they made on SNL and it's laugh out loud funny!

Ologies is my favourite podcast! Alie Ward is such a delightful host. Someone who would be so cool to hang out with in real life. There are so many topics ranging from super-fun to super-heavy. Some of my favourite episodes are Teuthology, Thanatology, Ornithology, and Fearology. Honestly, I love the whole show and I think it's a great companion to a good walk.

Skottie!!!!

You ain't so YOUNG anymore.. jajajaja (Yes, I'm Mexican, that's my laugh)

Ok. Puns aside! I was going to ask you, what do you listen to, podcast wise, and then I saw you asked for podcasts to listen too. There are several podcasts I listen to, but my absolute favorite is "The Sasquatch Chronicles"

Basically Bigfoot/Sasquatch stories from listeners. He likes to interviews Police Officers, Military Personnel, and Hunters/Outdoorsmen. A.) Police officers have a lot to lose but are good at description. B. Military Personnel don't have to tell you a story to impress you since they pretty much have faced death.. C. Hunters and Outdoorsmen because they know what a DAMN BEAR looks like and they know it wasn't a DAMNED BEAR!

Which brings me to my next idea for me to do a comic book on the paranormal with Ghosts-UFOS-Cryptids, and I see James Tynion IV did something similar with Blue Book. I wanted mine to be more Art Bell type based.. some dude in cap sitting somewhere doing a radio show having people call in and tell there stories and the listener stories would actually be each comic book story. :)

I listen to all my podcasts via Spotify. Aside from Sasquatch Chronicles, I listen to the 'Best of Art Bell' and 'National Park after Dark.' "On Sasquatch Chronicles, there is also a pay to listen feature but the regular episodes are just as good. I started from the beginning recently, AGAIN, and started doing a BEST OF LIST for those. :)
