This was a lot of fun. Wears the influences on it's sleeve but it also has a ton of heart and the adventure elements come through beautiully. The world is also a brilliant living and breathing ecosystem that is just waiting to be explored. I can't wait to see where issue 2 takes us!
Just finished reading it, and can't wait to see where the story goes in issue 2! The art and colors are awesome. Congrats to everyone involved for having a new book out in the world!
I’ve already commented but I have to comment again now that I’ve read and, to absolutely no one’s surprise, fallen in love with another one of your comics. Yeah, I need to unabashedly fangirl for a moment. The sense of wonder and adventure as Twig’s journey starts is palpable--you write this type of story so well! I want nothing more then to go adventuring with Twig and Splat. Kyle’s art is perfect—the characters…the setting…every panel visually stunning with so much to see that one reading is not enough to take in all the awesomeness. And really, we need some new words in the English language to adequately describe what Jean-Francois does with colors. Please just burn them into my eyeballs. Last, but definitely not least, Nate’s lettering, logo, design, ALL the things, tie everything together spectacularly. I would write more but I have a new comic I want to read again so all I’ll say for now is thank you Skottie for putting such great stories out in the world.
I'll pick up anything with Skottie's name attached to it, but I've been extra excited about this one for a while. I read issue 1 today. The artwork is beautiful, and the story is a great start to what will undoubtedly be an epic adventure. Can't wait for issue 2!
I love starting a new series. All the previews, the live stream, the ask for us to help order and promote it makes this launch feel like I/we are a part of it. Wishing it to be a huge success for all involved. Can’t wait to get my copies and discover these new universe playground and stories.
